Abstract

Research examining the intersectionality of Latino cultural factors and sexual orientation remains dearth, making it difficult to fully understand the impact cultural factors have on the coming out experience for Latino gay men. To better understand how cultural factors play a role in the coming out process, 15 self-identified Latino gay men, aged 27–40, were surveyed using an integrated approach methodology. Findings suggest that multiple cultural factors within the Latino community influence the coming out process for the men in this study.
