Abstract

The paper presents tabulated values of the viscosity of the dry combustion products of pure carbon in air. The data provided refer to atmospheric pressure and extend over the temperature range 0 to 1000°C, and over air contents from the stoichiometric limit for complete combustion to five times this value. The data have been generated with the aid of the kinetic theory of multicomponent gas mixtures supported by the extended law of corresponding states formulated by Kestin, Ro, and Wakeham. The tabulated data have an estimated accuracy of ±0.3%. The relations used for the generation of the tables are provided to allow their extrapolation, whereas simplified, empirical correlations enable their interpolation.
