Abstract

Counselor educators play a critical role in the facilitation of social justice and
multicultural dispositions among students. A self-disclosure instructional strategy
is discussed that involves educators modeling professional dispositions, including
reflexivity and transparency, to foster student engagement in the multicultural
learning process. A corresponding activity is presented in which a counselor
educator engages students in exploring the educator’s intersectional identities
and cultural positionality through anonymous question asking.
