Universal negative Poisson ratio of self-avoiding fixed-connectivity membranes

Abstract

The Poisson ratio of physical self-avoiding fixed-connectivity membranes was estimated via Monte Carlo simulations. It was established that these materials are also auxetic materials with a Poisson ratio and roughness exponent in statistical agreement with those of flat phantom membranes.
