Abstract

The two-photon thermal blooming spectrum of liquid benzene is reported for the 5.8-7.4 eV region (215-167 nm) using both linearly and circularly polarized light. The spectrum resembles that of the familiar one-photon transitions to the 1B1u and 1E1u states No allowed two-photon transitions in this region are found.
