Abstract

"Project vita," a reporting device similar to an individual's professional vita, is an effective solution for several documentation, planning, evaluation, and management problems in largescale research and development (R&D) projects. Two field trials of the technique, an R&D project to develop new evaluation methods, and an R&D project to develop state-of-the-art technology for storage and retrieval of full text archival material, illustrate the uses, benefits, and costs of the project vita technique.
