Abstract

At the end of February 2019, Google Scholar reports more than 85,000 citations to David's work. There is no question that his contribution to scholarship has been enormous, and his influence on the field of entrepreneurship research transformative. No matter what one's theoretical lens and background are, we all benefited from David's work. The number of citations and articles, quality of the outlets, and a long list of prizes and recognitions illustrate the many facets of his impressive career. Yet, they do not tell the whole story. In the following chapter, the author strives to tell that story.
