Abstract
The impact of relaying on the capacity of broadcast channels was analyzed. It was assumed that the output of the relay was less noisy than the outputs at two users. It was also observed that the dumb relay improves the rate of both users. It was shown that the cooperative broadcast channel has a larger achievable region than the capacity region of the degraded broadcast channel.
