The electronic ground state and coordination environment of iron (II) in ferrous bleomycin

Abstract

Zero field iron-57 Mössbauer spectra are used to demonstrate that the ferrous complex of the anti-tumor agent bleomycin contains Fe(II) as a high-spin species that is six coordinate in the solid state.
