Abstract
The reaction of [MoCl4(PPh3)2] with NH2But in CH2Cl2 yields yellow crystals of [MoCl4(NH2But)2]· 2NH2But. The structure is shown to consist of both cis and trans isomers of [MoCl4(NH2But)2] and uncoordinated NH2But molecules. Crystal data: triclinic space group, P1, a=11.767(4), b=12.428(4), c= 19.338(5) Å, α=90.40(2), β=93.19(2), γ= 102.20(2)°, V=2759.3(14) Å3, Dcalc=1.28 g cm-3, Z=4. Structure solution and refinement based on 2651 reflections (Mo Kα, λ=0.71073 Å, Fo≥ 6σ(Fo)) converged at R=0.058.
