Abstract

The preparations of two monomeric uranyl thiolate compounds are presented, [Me4N][UO2(NO3)2(C5H 4NS)] (4) and [C16H25N2S2Si2] [UO2(NO3)2(C8H12NSSi)] (5). Crystal data: 4, C9H16N4O8SU, orthorhombic, P212121, a = 8.553(2), b = 13.921(2), c= 14.895(2) Å, V = 1773.7(9) Å3, Z = 4, 1356 reflections, R = 0.0463. 5, C24H37N5O8S3Si 3U, monoclinic, P21/c, a = 11.925(2), b = 27.429(5), c = 11.462(2) Å, β = 97.33(3)°, V=3718(2) Å3, Z = 4, 1055 reflections, R = 0.0518. These are possible precursors to previously reported uranyl-peroxo and -oxo thiolate clusters. Attempts at oxo transfer from the clusters to substrates are also discussed.
