Abstract

The hydrothermal reaction of silver nitrate with 4,4′-dipyridylamine (Hdpa) yields a new Ag(I) two-dimensional network material, [Ag(dpa)]. The structure is constructed from trigonal Ag(I) sites bound to two nitrogen donors from adjacent dpa- ligands and the central deprotonated nitrogen of the dpa- ligand. Crystal data: orthorhombic Cmcm, a = 11.0160(8) Å, b = 11.2683(8) Å, c = 7.2619(5) Å, Z = 16, V = 901.4(1) Å3, Dcalc = 2.049 g cm-3, R1 = 0.0308.
