Abstract

Self-focusing of continuous HeNe laser radiation in very recently available KNSBN: Ce crystal is investigated. The "position dispersion" curves of the crystal are given by using the z-scan method. The effective nonlinearity n2 is positive. It is shown to be mainly caused by the laser heating thermal effect.
