Abstract

This paper presents an adaptation method which has been developed for the computation of two-dimensional Euler flows. Irregularly shaped embedded regions, which are coupled to the base grid by a multiple-grid method, are employed to achieve any user-specified level of accuracy. The adaptation technique is applied to the computation of the AGARD Working Group 07 isolated airfoil test cases and an airfoil/flap combination.
