The complex [Rh(2-SC5H3N-3-SiMe3)3] (1) may be prepared by the reaction of Rh(NO3)3 with 2-HSC5H3N-3-SiMe3 in ethanol. The structure of 1 is similar to that of [Rh(2-SC5H4N)3]. The reaction of [Rh(C5Me5)Cl2]2 with 2-HSC5H3N-3-SiMe3 in acetonitrile yields [Rh(2-SC5H3N-3- SiMe3)2(C5Me5)]·CH3CN (2), whose structure exhibits two distinct types of pyridinethiolato ligation: monodentate through the S donor and bidentate through S and N donors.
