Abstract

Using a dynamic resource-based perspective, this paper seeks to better understand how firms respond to a changing environment, specifically by leveraging dynamic resources such as human and social capital. This study uses a sample of 135 personal banks to assess: (1) whether businesses make changes to their human and social capital during environmental turbulence; and (2) what impact such adaptations have on performance? Our results indicate that changing these resources concurrently impacts changes in performance.
