Abstract
Direct excitation of single rovibronic levels of the O2 B 3Σ-u state is reported. Laser radiation at 200, 188, and 184 nm is generated by stimulated Raman shifting harmonics of a Nd: YAG laser with hydrogen gas. Resonance fluorescence to vibrational levels of the ground state and Raman activity to the fundamental level are observed at all excitation wavelengths.
