Abstract

The nitrido complexes [MoN(S2CNR2)3] (R2 Me2, Et2) and [ReN)S2CNR2)2-(PMe2Ph)n] (R2 Me2; Et2; n 0, 1) react with halides R′X (R′ PhCO, PhSO2, 2,4-(NO2)2C6H3, 2,4-(NO2)2C6H3S; X Cl, R′ Me, X I), [R′3O]BF4 (R′ Me, Et) or [Ph3C]BF4 to give the imido complexes [Mo(NR′)(S2CNR2)3]+ and [Re(NR′)(S2CNR2)2(PME2Ph)n] (R′ Me, Et, Ph3C+, PhSO2, PhCO, 2,4(O2N)2-C6H3, 2,4-(O2N)2C6H3S); the X-ray crystal structures of [Mo(NCPh3)(S2-CNMe2)3]BF4 and [Mo(NSO2Ph)(S2CNMe2)3]PF6 have been determined. Both complexes have approximately pentagonal bipyramidal geometries although the NSO2Ph complex is more distorted. The NCPh3 and NSO2Ph complexes have MoNC and MoNS angles of 175.1(5) ° and 161.3(13)° and MoN distances of 1.731(2) and 1.70(2)Å, respectively.
