Quantum beats in single rovibronic state fluorescence of biacetyl

Abstract

We have observed quantum beats in the time resolved fluorescence of biacetyl excited to single rovibronic states of the first excited singlet. The density of triplet states deduced from these beats is in agreement with predicted vibrational state densities.
