Abstract
For the purpose of designing miniature microstrip transmission lines and their substitutes we consider various structures and compare their electrical properties and footprint. Straight transmission lines have the best wideband performance, followed by meander lines. Photonic band-gap structures are inferior. The footprint areas for all structures are similar.
