Noise couplings in the laser interferometer gravitational wave observatory (LIGO)

Research output: Chapter in Book/Entry/PoemConference contribution

Abstract

The commissioning of LIGO required the mitigation of technical noise couplings to the Gravitational Wave readout. Of particular interest were RF oscillator Phase Noise and Thermal Compensation Laser Intensity Noise. Both couplings were larger than anticipated.
