Abstract
Digital badging is used to credential soft skills, competencies, accomplishments, interests, and affiliations. They recognize and assess a commitment to professional development. Some say they gamify the learning process, others laud their motivational value, and still others purport their usefulness to employers. Audience members will learn how one librarian at SUNY College at Cortland developed and employed digital badges to motivate Community Health students to broaden their information literacy skills.
