Abstract

The reaction of VOCl3 with bulky biphenolic compounds (H 2L) provides dark brown complexes of formula, [V(O)(L)Cl]; X-ray diffraction studies revealed that the complex for which L = 2,2′-CH 2(4-Me,6-ButC6H2O)2 is monomeric in the solid state with approximate tetrahedral geometry about the V atom.
