Modelling of the wet pressing of paper

Abstract

The partial differential equations governing the deformation of paper and the percolation of water are summarized. Stress to strain relations and permeability data complete the formulation. Initial results of the numerical analysis of the equations, using the Galerkin finite element technique are presented.
