Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of a sub-micron DNA-wire based FET. It describes the device structure, its bases of operation, introduces the device model and presents simulation results depicting internal and external device characteristics under different biasing conditions. Analyses of the simulation results as they relate to the DNA wire hybridization are discussed. The results indicate a high potential for utilizing this FET structure for DNA sequencing applications
