Abstract

The generalized forward spin polarizabilities of the neutron were measured. The forward spin polarizabilities γ0 and δLT of the neutron were found to be extracted for the first time in a Q2 range from 0.1 to 0.9 GeV2. As γ0 was sensitive to nucleon resonance and δLT was insensitive to the δ resonance resonance, it was the expected that the pair of forward spin polarizabilites should provide benchmark test. The results show significant disagreement with the next-to-leading-order relativistic baryon chiral perturbation theory calculation.
