Layered architecture for multisensor data fusion systems

Abstract

Previous models acknowledged the existence of communication networks but had not included them in the models. The notion of data fusion process models was extended to include the communication process. A layered architecture that includes both the processes is presented. The JDL (Joint Directors of Laboratories) model was used as the building block for this layered architecture.
