Abstract
The different iterative methods based on method of moments (MoM) solution of surface integral equations (SIE) and their advantages over direct methods were investigated for complex structures. The iterative methods considered were gradient, conjugate gradient, biconjugate gradient and augmented conjugate gradient. The highest acceleration was achieved for large metallic scatterer modeled of patched of approximately equal sizes and analyzed by low order basis functions. A decrease in the acceleration was noticed for patches of different sizes, higher order basis functions, symmetry planes and if the body was made of dielectric instead of metal.
