Abstract
By introducing differentiation into the recursive method, a gelation model has been formulated for analyzing the effect of diffusional limitations on the sol-gel transition of polycyanate resins. Application of this model to a zinc-catalyzed cyanate resin system shows that the diffusion-induced unequal reactivities have a significant effect on the delay of gelation but other factors, which may include cycle formation and localized reactions, are also important.
