Abstract

The plane elastic inclusion pair interaction problem with debonding interfaces was studied to determine the effect of weak inclusion interaction on the formation of cavities by non-linear interfacial decohesion. Exact solutions are obtained for the circumferential stress and the boundary displacements in the single reflection void pair problem under remote equibiaxial load, longitudinal tensile load and transverse tensile load. The predictions are compared with known results from the literature and it is demonstrated that only for remote equibiaxial load is there reasonable agreement.
