Abstract

The article explains how a virtual space can foster collaboration in online writing centers. The authors created the University of Louisville's Virtual Writing Center (VWC) wiki where clients could post and revise their papers through feedback media. Methods like text-based instant messaging, real-time audio and video conferencing increase the efficacy of online consultations. A survey found that e-mail consultations are more popular form of VWC consultation. It is hoped that the future VWC will be more collaborative for the users
