Abstract
The authors discuss the half Fourier transform (HFT) and explore its application to radar-return signals with specular components. It is shown that this transform enables the desired part to be separated from the specular impulsive components. The effectiveness of this technique and the computer program developed is demonstrated by simulation examples. The program uses an optimization package which minimizes a nonlinear sum-of-squares functional with a model trust region strategy.
