Abstract

In this manuscript, we extend our earlier work on Radical reflexivity, a methodological framework for reflexive engagement within qualitative research in counseling. We discuss the need for a deeper understanding of the theoretical and philosophical paradigms that underpin qualitative research methods. Next, we provide practical examples of reflexive paradigms and call attention to how these expand reflexive engagement throughout the research endeavor. Finally, we provide examples from our own research experiences and explore implications for reflexive engagement within counseling qualitative research.
