Firm ownership and corporate social responsibility: “Are all politics local?”

Research output: Contribution to journalConference Articlepeer-review

Abstract

In this paper, we investigate how a firm's CSR orientation is jointly associated with its ownership types as well as the political leanings around its headquarters. We find that large institutional owners are associated with lower CSR strengths in blue states, while family ownership is associated with greater CSR strengths in red states.
