Abstract

Ferredoxin from Veillonella alcalescens was isolated and purified giving an A390 A280 ratio of 0.82. Amino acid assays, iron and acid-labile sulfide analysis and EPR measurements indicate that the protein belongs to the class of eight iron-eight acid-labile sulfide ferredoxins. The redox potential, E0 = -410 mV, was measured by polarographic techniques.
