Abstract

This chapter presents a case study of the Literacy Research Association, a longstanding and impactful professional organization. This study investigates its recent journal publications and conference proposals with a focus on epistemological and methodological representation. We found epistemological and methodological balance in the Journal of Literacy Research, while Literacy Research: Theory, Method, and Practice and conference presentations trended toward sociocultural and critical foundations and qualitative methods. We close the chapter with implications of these results for the field of literacy research.
