Abstract

Fluorescence excitation spectra of stilbene in bibenzyl crystals at 4.2 show well resolved monomer and dimer components. The dimer spectrum is shifted to the red of that of the monomer by 973 cm-1, exhibits somewhat different fundamental intervals, perturbed intensities and a more complex vibronic pattern.
