Abstract
The E-pulse method is discussed and refined in the context of radar target pole retrieval from scattered field. Its relation to Prony's method is investigated. It is shown that the E-pulse method can be viewed as a smoothing and sampling procedure and a Prony's approach. The tradeoff between noise insensitivity and computation burden influenced by various parameters is pointed out.
