Abstract

The hydrothermal reaction of MoO3 with 4,4′-dipyridylamine yields [Mo8O26(4,4′-dpa)2][4,4′-dpaH 2]2. The structure consists of octamolybdate clusters linked via H-bonding to the (dpaH2)2+ cations into one-dimensional ribbons which are in turn connected through H-bonding into two-dimensional sheets.
