Abstract
This paper presents the basic framework of an intelligent planning environment for automated dimensional inspection. The goal is to develop a decision planner that can directly interpret the design data provided in the AD product model and generate inspection procedures. A prototype has been reported to show how to extract the necessary information from a geometric model, generate a data structure for inspection planning, and search for economic inspection sequences.
