Abstract
According to the least energy principle, the factors of comfort of the cab were defined from the energy perspective. One of them was the optimum layout. Compared with the cab of typical products, intelligent seat was the best way to enhance comfort of the cab during the period of working in the field. Based on dimensions of Chinese man body (18~60 years old), SIP point method and Chinese design norm, a new seat and a cab were designed. The range of the seat location was 600~750 mm (portrait) and 400~500 mm (vertical). Then scores of RULA were calculated during the static state and dynamic state separately. During the period of working in the field, scores of left and right hands with RULA were 2 according to the simulations with manikins. The results of the ergonomics simulation showed that comfort was improved considerably. Especially the swivel seat, labor intensity were decreased when drivers observed the back of the tractor. This result showed that integrating the parts on the seat could enhance comfort and make handy to operate the tractor. It also showed that a compact layout could reduce labor intensity of tractor drivers and increase the control precision of the farm implements. The silencer and bracket could mount on the column because there was a blind area on the column according to the vision analysis. It was a feasible approach to install control systems on the right arm of the seat. In this way, operators would get a more reasonable status on controlling tractors. The volume of the cab was diminished so that weight of the whole tractor was decreased according to this new design. The research provided a way to design intelligent tractor cab with ergonomics.
