Abstract

We report new measurements of the asymmetry in the deep-inelastic scattering of longitudinally polarized electrons by longitudinally polarized protons in the kinematic range 2<~ω<~10, 1<~Q2<~4 (GeV/c)2, and 2<~W<~4 GeV. We compare our results with the Bjorken sum rule and with several theoretical models of the internal spin structure of the proton.
