Cystovirus φ6 structure probed by stokes shift fluorescence spectroscopy

Fluorescence Stokes shift measurements of tryptophan in bacteriophage 6 were used to determine solvent exposure. It is determined that the envelope proteins are in a more hydrophobic environment than internal proteins of the polymerase complex.
