Cystovirus φ6 structure probed by stokes shift fluorescence spectroscopy

Abstract

Fluorescence Stokes shift measurements of tryptophan in bacteriophage Φ6 were used to determine solvent exposure. It is determined that the envelope proteins are in a more hydrophobic environment than internal proteins of the polymerase complex.
