Conclusion: Endgame?

Research output: Chapter in Book/Entry/PoemChapter

Abstract

This chapter examines shifts in the cinema of hopelessness that has engaged with fantasies of refusal over the past decade. Avengers: Endgame offers a model of a progressive nostalgia that seeks hope for the future by retrieving the worthy aspects of the past. The relation between this cinematic rhetoric and the successful presidential campaign of Joseph Biden is considered.
