Abstract

In the current work, experiments were carried out in the mixing region of an axisymmetric turbulent jet to acquire the necessary data to perform a one dimensional shot noise decomposition and a scalar one dimensional version of the full orthogonal decomposition. Numerical computations were carried out and the eigenfunction and characteristic eddies were extracted from these measurements. The power spectra as well as the instantaneous velocity signals have been reconstructed from these eigenfunctions. (from paper)
