Abstract

There are three separate methods for specifying tolerances: runout, concentricity, and position. Each method requires a different CMM inspection algorithm, reflecting the different intent of the three specification methods. The objective of this paper is to describe the computational procedures for determining the runout, concentricity and position tolerances of a cylindrical feature. The proposed algorithms are implemented and their performance is evaluated on a simple example.
