Charm decays within the standard model and beyond

Research output: Chapter in Book/Entry/PoemConference contribution

Abstract

Charm decay studies provide unique Standard Model tests and may open up new physics perspectives. Significant improvements in our knowledge of these decays are being gained through a variety of experimental approaches. In parallel, new theoretical developments strive towards more precise evaluations of the matrix elements needed to relate these data to fundamental quark-level quantities. The complex interplay between theoretical and experimental progress is reviewed, as well as important contributions provided by charm meson data to our understanding of b-meson decay phenomenology.
