Abstract
In order to reduce the difficulties for image recognition, the color separation method may be used usually. The two kinds of automatic separation algorithms were proposed. One is based on color histogram analysis, which has stronger robustness, and other is based on color map cluster, which has stronger real-time property. Both of them not only can process image with single color background, but also can process image with multi-color background. The experimental results for petro-geological image have shown that the algorithms are available.
