Abstract
Based on the mechanism of complementary suppression-modulated transmission of light-sensitive protein bR (bacteriorhodopsin) film which has shown great promise as a candidate material for photonic applications, a photonic logic device was designed, in which five classical double-variable binary logic operations were implemented with the intensity of incident violet beam as the input to the logic gate and the transmission as the output of the gate. This device can be turned into different state using different illumination.
